Is this new wind turbine design preferable to T. Boone Pickens large wind turbine farm plan?
The problem with current wind turbines is that they take up massive amounts of land, are very noisy and kill thousands of migratory and raptor birds each year.
It utilizes a lever principle comprising a fulcrum, equal off-setting weights (like a teeter totter), and an airplane-like wing for capturing the force of the wind. This results in a significant mechanical advantage for converting the wind’s kinetic energy into electricity, compressed air, or direct applications such as pumping water.

It looks like something to consider. Have any full size prototypes been built and field tested? It appears to have more moving parts than traditional wind turbines. I don’t think it would make any difference with the amount of land needed and it would still make noise. The Audubon society’s says that wind farms that are not in bird migration corridors don’t kill many birds but badly placed wind farms can be disastrous for birds.
